About The Lewis and Clark Interpretive Association
The Lewis & Clark Interpretive Association (LCIA) is a non-profit 501(c)(3)
corporation with an educational mission. The LCIA works in conjunction with
the USDA Forest Service, the National Park Service, Montana Department of Fish,
Wildlife and Parks, and other partners to enhance the learning experience about
the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
The LCIA operates exclusively for the charitable and educational purposes of:
Acquiring, researching, studying and publicizing historical and scientific
information and knowledge of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, particularly as
it relates to those parts of the Expedition which took place in Montana and
the Upper Missouri.
Promoting public education, interpretive and informational activities
and events to the public that highlight the travels of Lewis and Clark, high
plains Indians, other explorers and additional historic features.
Providing educational and interpretive materials to the public in association
with the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail Interpretive Center and Portage
Cache Store.
Cooperating with and encouraging other organizations having similar purposes
by means of advice, publicity, and financial assistance.
Mission Statement
The Lewis and Clark Interpretive Association is a group of individuals who
support The Lewis and Clark National Historical Traill Interpretive Center by
managing the Portage Cache Store and who provide interpretive and educational
events of the Lewis and Clark expedition to the public.
